1968 Pontiac GTO For Sale

This 1968 Pontiac GTO is originally a HO 4-speed car, per the PHS documents.
It has about 42,000 miles on the clock. Originally it had no power steering & no power brakes.
I added both the power steering, having the steering gear box custom made,
the Inline Tube front power disc brake setup, and four new coil springs.

It is one of just over 6000 produced. It has had a frame off restoration by the previous owner.
The restoration is six to eight years old. It has a non-numbers 1968 400 motor that was rebuilt
and dynoed at 418 hp with 454 ft lbs. of torque at the crank. The M-21 4-speed and the
10 bolt posi with 3.55 gears were rebuilt as well. It has the original HO exhaust manifolds and
a 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent flowmaster exhaust. Hayes Clutch & Pressure plate assembly.
It now has an am-fm 8 track mounted in the dash.

The car was originally white with turquoise interior. Now it's 1972 GM Pewter with a
black interior and Cragar Street Star wheels. The rear tires are new & have less than
500 miles on them. Front tires are excellent.

In August of 2008 I attended the Ames sponsored Pontiac Nationals at Summit
Raceway in Norwalk Ohio. The car was judged in the Street Class (st-2) and received
a third place trophy.

Purchased 040608 from Chuck Elliott of Canton Ohio & brought home 040808.
Chuck bought the car from his brother in-law, Jeff Ramser also of Central Ohio.
Prior to that the car was owned by John Woodall, also of Central Ohio.
I'm selling the 68 because the restoration of my 1971 455 GTO is nearing completion.
You can see photos of the 71 elsewhere on my website.
